Osaka
Osaka is a city that is meant to be fully experienced. Nicknamed Tenka no Daidokoro, "the nation's kitchen", it is renowned throughout Japan for its street food culture and warm character. Between the historic castle overlooking the Kinki Plain, the lively streets of Namba and its neighborhood markets, this metropolis stands out as an essential destination. More food-focused than Kyoto and more laid-back than Tokyo, Osaka captivates visitors with its authenticity.

Getting lost in Dōtonbori after dark, among the illuminated signs and the aroma of takoyaki,
climbing to the top of Osaka Castle at sunrise to watch the city awaken,
exploring Kuromon Ichiba Market, the city's pantry since the 19th century,
taking the ferry along the river to reach the artificial island of Tempozan and its immense aquarium.

What SEASON to go to Osaka?
The best time to visit Osaka is from March to May and from October to November, when temperatures are mild and the skies are generally clear. In spring, cherry blossoms transform the castle park into a landscape of pink and white, while the festive atmosphere of hanami spreads throughout the city. In autumn, the vibrant colors of Japanese maple trees create an equally spectacular display, with the added advantage of more moderate crowds.
From June to September, Osaka experiences hot and humid weather, with the rainy season arriving in June. Temperatures can exceed 35°C (95°F) in July and August. Yet the city never slows down: covered markets, cool izakayas and major summer festivals such as Tenjin Matsuri provide enjoyable experiences regardless of the weather. Winter, quieter and less crowded, is ideal for exploring Osaka at a more relaxed pace, especially with the city's beautiful year-end illuminations.
