Khao Sok
Khao Sok, a natural gem in southern Thailand, impresses all travelers with its dense tropical rainforest, emerald lake, and spectacular karst formations. This national park invites you to adventure and discovery, with jungle treks, boat rides on Cheow Lan Lake, and unique nights spent in floating bungalows. For lovers of unspoiled nature and tranquility, Khao Sok is an unmissable stop in Thailand.
Khao Sok at a glance
Khao Sok is a true natural treasure that few travelers suspect. Did you know this region is home to one of the oldest tropical rainforests in the world? At 160 million years old, it is even older than the Amazon! What fascinates me here is the incredible richness of its ecosystem: a dense jungle inhabited by gibbons, wild elephants, hornbills, and even the rafflesia, the largest flower in the world.
But Khao Sok is not just jungle! Cheow Lan Lake, formed by the Ratchaprapha Dam, offers breathtaking scenery with karst cliffs and emerald waters. Sleeping in a floating bungalow, waking up to the sound of monkeys, trekking through the mist, or gliding quietly by canoe over calm waters... it is a one-of-a-kind experience, out of time, perfect to reconnect with nature. For me, it's one of the most beautiful adventures to have in Thailand.

WHAT TO SEE IN Khao Sok

What SEASON to go to Khao Sok?
Khao Sok National Park reveals all its splendor between December and April, when the dry season provides a perfect climate for jungle and water exploration. The days are sunny, trails are walkable, and the morning mist on the lake creates a magical atmosphere. It is also the ideal time for wildlife spotting!
From May through November, the rainy season sets in. Showers become more frequent, especially in the late afternoon, and some excursions may be limited. But it is also when the vegetation is at its lushest. Waterfalls flow at full strength, and the atmosphere feels wilder. Adventurous travelers often find a different, more authentic charm during this time.
