Koh Lanta represents the authentic side of Thailand, friendly, warm, and full of life. It is a perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful escape without sacrificing cultural and natural richness. Among my most memorable experiences:

  • Waking up early to admire the orange hues of the sea along the silent east coast, only broken by the gentle comings and goings of local fishermen,

  • cruising across the island at my own pace by scooter, stopping in small Muslim villages like Lanta Old Town,

  • getting lost on the quiet beaches of Mu Koh Lanta National Park,

  • snorkeling off the shores of Koh Rok or Koh Haa, where turquoise waters are home to vibrant marine life.

If you truly want to uncover Koh Lanta’s hidden beauty, venture out to the secluded coves around Klong Jark Bay.

What SEASON to go to Koh Lanta?

The best time to visit Koh Lanta is from November to April, during the dry season. These months offer sunny days, calm seas, and pleasant temperatures, perfect for beach time and water activities like snorkeling and boat trips. From December to February, the weather is particularly pleasant, with clear skies and temperatures between 25°C and 30°C.

If you prefer a quieter atmosphere and more affordable prices, the rainy season (from May to October) can also be a good option. While the sea may be rougher and rain more frequent, the island is less crowded, offering a more intimate experience and a different way to discover Koh Lanta.
