Just 30 minutes by boat from Phuket, Koh Yao Yai offers total escapism, far from the tourist crowds. Koh Yao Yai at a glance
Here, no crowds, just wild beaches, charming fishing villages, and a peaceful atmosphere. Take the time to wander along the island’s small roads, meeting locals and discovering their authentic way of life.
My tip: leave early in the morning by longtail boat to Koh Hong, about 30 minutes away. You will be among the first to arrive and can enjoy this magical island in peace. Climb the 420 steps to the breathtaking viewpoint. It is a bit of a workout, but the reward is worth it: a stunning panorama over the iconic limestone cliffs of Phang Nga Bay.
