Luang Prabang: discovering silk
Welcome to Laos! Upon arrival at Luang Prabang Airport, your French-speaking guide will greet you and take you for a first immersion at the Ock Pop Tok Textile Centre, dedicated to preserving Laotian traditions and fair trade. Enjoy a welcome lunch on site at a local restaurant offering a lovely view over the Mekong. Accompanied by a centre host, discover the entire process from silkworm to finished textile: natural dyes, ancestral techniques, and traditional patterns. You will have the opportunity to meet the weavers and artisans and admire their craftsmanship in action.
You will then be transferred to your hotel for check-in. In the late afternoon, climb to the summit of Mount Phou Si to enjoy a spectacular panoramic view over the city at sunset. On the way down, stroll through the famous Night Market, a true institution of Luang Prabang, where local handicrafts enliven the main street around the National Museum as night falls.
Night in Luang Prabang.
